Kaylee came into the world on Tuesday May 9, 2000 at 11:49am
at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado
She weighed in at 7 lb 5.3 oz and was 20.5 inches long

You can click on the pictures shown here and get a larger version. This shows Kaylee just minutes old. She was only slightly splotchy here, but very quickly pinked up and smoothed out incredibly. Before leaving the Labor and Delivery room, she had very even skin and didn't show any signs of a cone head! Here's our first family portrait - so to speak. Kaylee appears to be crying, which is certainly understandable given all that she had just been through. She was an amazing trooper! She was very consolable and calmed down almost immediately for Dad - even when she was having her first exam. She scored 8/9 out of 10 on her first test (the APGAR score). Kaylee looks like she's dozing off, but she's not. It's just hard to get the image just at the right moment. Unfortunately this doesn't quite capture her essence, but we still thought it was worth showing. Click on the picture for a blown up one so you get the details. The large version of this is much better. She's a little red around the mouth because of the pasifier that was just pulled out, but it's still a great shot.
