Working in construction management was, by far, my most enjoyable
work. I wasn't designing systems, but I was following the installation
in the field. It was more satisfying to me to oversee the actual
installation and functioning system in operation. Before I really got my
feet wet in construction, I was concerned about being female in such a
male-dominated field. The people that I worked with, however, were
wonderful and I felt like "one of the guys" most of the time.
If you ever have the opportunity to work for Swinerton & Walberg, do
it. They were not the first construction management company I worked
for, but they were by far the best. |
